The Yorkshire Wolds, with their rich bird population and stunning countryside that stretches all the way to the east coast, surround the city. The popular coastal resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey can be found nearby and are all worth a visit.


What to do in Hull


Hull offers excellent shopping facilities, from well-known department stores to tiny, family run trendy boutiques and colourful street markets. Savile street is well-known as home to many designer labels. The city boasts an excellent selection of restaurants and bars and the Hull New Theatre offers performances of international drama, comedy, ballet, opera and musicals.

Tourist Attractions


One of the many places to visit in Hull is The Deep. This is an aquarium that uses interactive technology to explain the past and the future of the world's seas.

The marina complex is a haven for yachts and smaller sailing boats. It is surrounded by shops, eateries and bars. In the summertime, the international Jazz and Sea Shanty festivals take place here.

Hull also boasts a number of excellent museums. The Old Grammar School Museum, Hull and East Riding Museum and the Maritime Museum are all worth a visit.
